Richard Houchin

A great philosopher once said that a sorry excuse for a human being is still a human being, and so deserves some measure of compassion. In the same vein, this is a sorry excuse for a blog, because I rarely update it. Be gentle in your furious and anonymous criticisms!

The Covered Bridge

I've got a new addition for my Explore! journal. This locale is right in my backyard, up at the Honey Run Covered Bridge near Chico.

Lauren and I had an early summer picnic on the banks, and we poked around a bit. Our picnic, by the way, consisted of whole wheat honey nut bacon cheese waffles. I just tossed all that stuff in the mix and bam! crispy deliciousness!

While at the covered bridge I got to try out my new Vibram Fivefingers shoes. They're a real blast to wear around, and worked great in the water on the slippery rocks.

But there's more to this exploration thing than wearing funny shoes and finding new ways to eat bacon! I also found an ancient druid staff. Read about the Covered Bridge for details.

Lauren's take on the covered bridge can be found at A News Cafe.
